"The people who did this to us are monsters; the people who cheered them have hate-sickened minds. One reason they can cheer is that they know we would never do to them what their heroes did to us, even though we could, a thousand times worse. They know that when we hunt down the monsters, we will try hard not to harm the innocent. Those are the handcuffs we willingly wear, because for all our flaws, we are a decent people." --Dave Barry, humor columnist and author
"Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat." --George W. Bush, President of the United States
"There is no compromise possible with such people, no meeting of minds, no point of understanding with such terror.Just a choice: defeat it or be defeated by it. And defeat it we must." --British Prime Minister Tony Blair

I stumbled upon your blog and read a few. Thank you for sharing your husband with the rest of the world. Your sacrifice keeps the rest of us safe.
Also, the spider story I quite understand. I am not afraid of spiders mostly because my big, strong, husband is absolutely terrified of them. Only thing in the world that gets him unhinged. So, it is my responsibility to keep all spiders at bay -- literally. I find the easiest kill is hairspray. This usually stiffens my prey so they can't move and allows me to squash them without having to chase them. What I wouldn't do for that man of mine!
Thank you for your kind words, Kim.
And the hairspray thing is a great idea! I'll definitely try that next time!
Amy, I'm sorry to hear your husband is deployed -- how hard that must be. My thoughts are with him and you and your son, especially today.
I feel like I just caught up with you via your blog -- very cool! I swear, this social networking stuff is just amazing... Can't believe it's been so long since highschool. Geez, we're old now, huh? Remembering you, I picture your pretty face with a big smile -- similar to the one I had reading about your recent adventures. Keep sharing -- I'm hooked!
